It's Been a Long While.....

I have so much to rant about today...I have been so busy lately that I have been forced to hold in all in...that sucks!

First up are my thoughts on the Supreme Court's ruling that the use of random sniffing dog searches in schools is a breach of privacy...this is bullshit...a school locker is not private property, in fact, it's public since taxpayer's money has paid for them to even be there in the first place...a school is not necessarily private as most are PUBLIC schools...one does not go out in public to seek privacy! If some shit head kid is bringing drugs onto public property, a shared space used by thousands of others, then the police and the school should have every and all rights to at the very least walk a dog around every now and then so that they can catch the little creep. Who is more important afterall? 1 shitty kid or 500 serious about learning-will likely contribute greatly to society if given the chance-children who have otherwise followed the rules (and the law) and go to school so that they can better themselves and others around them?

Second thought today (that plagues my mind every spring)...WTF is up with chicks and their premature desires to wear white as soon as the temperature goes about zero? Sure there are social "rules" about that kind of things (no white after labour day, never wear a white shoe with black bottoms, etc), but outside of the "rules" there is an element of common sense...it's f-ing sick outside girls....there is still snow on the ground in some places, the ground is sloppy and muddy and the streetsare still covered in sand and salt from the winter.....thus, why the hell would anyone want to put on a pair of tight white capris and prance around outside in them? If i had $10 for every time I have seen some girl with muddy track marks all up her back end, I would be able to afford a pair of black tight capri pants for every single one of the seasonal violators....fucking morons.

Third, and this is just a thought I had, it's not necessarily how I feel or not....but the Texan authorities hauled off with 400+ children from some Mormon compound after some proof that child abuse/marriage/sex with minors was going on...not all, but many, from families with complex family trees/organization whatever else. Oh what a horror now...absolutely child abuse is wrong....technically/legally speaking, so is polygamy, (and we all know the stories about this group of people and their ways of life) but the spotlight on these people now is that they are ALL wrong, ALL perverts, and ALL need to pay the legal price. Now if we would only be so serious about this sort of thing (child abuse) when it comes to groups of people we as a socity view as "normal"....now if we would only round up the teachers that prey on their students, the fathers that creep into their children's rooms at night, the mothers that allow their children to live with such preditors, the doctors, the lawyers, the welders, the gardeners, the religious guy that goes to church every Sunday then volunteers to organize an after school basketball program for 12 year old boys, the politician that flies to Thailand every March so that he can bang some poverty stricken 10 year old sex slave...ooooh I could go on....basically the people that live in our "normal society that are participating in the same gross acts as some of these Fundamentalist Mormons supposedly are. yes if we could only start to lable them (you know the creeps that walk amongst us everyday under the giese of a "normal person") all the same way we label the Fundamentalist Mormons....like "those teachers...did you notice how the way they dress and do their hair?" or, "have you noticed how those welders live? they all live in rental properties and drive big trucks..." fuck me get it together, perverts are perverts and we should take them all seriously and do our damnedest to lock em up; let's extend the service to children of "normal pervert (American) parents"...the Texan officials should be grateful that their pervert round-up was so easy, they were all on one location (seemingly)...but lets be honest, like any other community and other culture, there are perverts and creeps that take advantage of the vunerable; perhaps keep that in mind.

Fifth up...the GLOBAL ONE HELICOPTER, EDMONTON'S OOONLY EYE IN THE SKY TO BREAKING NEWS!

Now pardon my ignorance, but the backed up traffic along the Whitemud before Quinsel Bridge does not strike me as particularly important, nor breaking as it happens every day at 5:00pm, so outside of that, what "news" is this helicopter "eye-ing" exactly? Once Globabl actually MADE "breaking news" after an abandoned old building caught fire and the helicopter had caught it on camera...no other broadcasts reported it...not because they had missed out and didn't have access to the amazing footage, but because there was no point on reporting it...it was a shitty old building, not used for anything, and the 3 car pile up involving an ingured senior citizen on hwy 2 was seemingly more important at the time. BUT because Global had a cool shit.....uh i mean SHOT of the fire from the chopper, it made headlines that evening.
So this is the BREAKING news! Backed up traffic during rush hour (by the way, it only comes in handy to know of an accident on the Yellowhead while i am ON the Yellowhead...that being said, I am not watching Global news on Channel 8 while I'm turning right from St. Albert Trail), and burning old sheds (FYI, my dad burns them all the time, just for fun...if you want a cool shot, just give him an hours notice and he'll be all over it...he loves burning shit). Meanwhile, inbetween BREAKING NEWS, the story of the night is GreenPeace does stupid stunt A to attract attention to Environmental abuse case #863 (most likely brought to you compliments of Government B)...the other story is how scientist X claims Global Warming crisis is furthered by bad gas of which should be brought to the attention of the already ailing Healthcare system so that patients with bad gas are cured thus slowing the pace of glacier melt. WHY do I rant so? Obviously because while Global is reporting this, they are also flying around some random stupid helicopter so that Edmontonians can witness what "Refinery Row" looks like at Rush Hour....fuck you all, do you have any idea how much fuel you are mindlessly wasting so that we can all see a minivan fire on the side of Calgary Trail? Maybe park the chopper for a couple days so I don't have to turn off my lights while I'm trying to roast an organic chicken. Noooo, it's allll up to us little people to save the environment, we can make the difference....buy hybrid cars, use energy efficient what-have-yous...boycott aerosol hairspray (bite me by the way)... and yes WE will make the difference so morons at Global can convey GreenPeace's messages via interviews and talk all day about their marvelous helicoptor (the only news station with one mind you.....why? because they are the best? Yeah sure, whatever). Nah, keep flying it because I'm sure eventually you will "Eye" something worth it for once and you can win some sort of news broadcasting award...meanwhile I will continue to be harassed by environmentalists for having a hate on for locally grown food and for refusing to use public transportation.
