Charming (ungrateful) Jackasses

Let me first say this: Heath Ledger's death is NOT tragic...to everyone who is mourning his "tragic" death via facebook status...screw off. Heath's death is NOT tragic, he died as a result of indulgence and the inability to look after himself under the easiest of circumstances...that is NOT tragic. If you want to mourn, grieve or get emotional about death and reflect that in your facebook status, perhaps mour, grieve, or get emotional about the truly tragic deaths that occur everyday in the world such as the innocent father and store owner in Toronto who was shot and killed as a result of a missed gang-shooting target. Or perhaps mourn, grieve, or get emotional about the over 600 Kenyans, many of whom are children, who have died as a result of violence relating to the country's latest "democratic" election. Get over Hollywood, get over it NOW.

Now my real rant of the day is this:
118th Ave, aka, Alberta Avenue...one of Edmonton's shadiest neighbourhoods is undergoing a transformation. With government funding, the area is set to undergo mass improvements to the area as an effort to clean up the community. Until now the community has been home to drug houses, hookers, and violence. What great news this is! Wow, cleaning up a neighbourhood in th downtown area...good news for sure! Few are aware of the many unique food stores and cafes that call Alberta Avenue home...whatever. A spokesperson for the community has now made public that she does not want Alberta Avenue to become another Whyte Ave....
Holy shit bitch what the hell....you don't want Alberta Ave...known now for drugs, hookers and assorted crime, to become a vibrant, lively, famous, and beautiful community? Oh, let me clarify, she points out that Whyte Ave is awash in pubs and bars that cause (at times) an amount of chaos on the street when they let out late at night on the weekends....Fuck you lady, i would take a large group of drunk young people peeing on a street and the occasional group brawl over an eternity of hookers and blow any day. You've been living in a slum for how many years, and now that you have the opportunity to fix your community up a little, you're going to get picky and start demanding what you will and will not tolerate? You've put up with countless pawn shops, money marts, and crack houses for HOW many years but the idea of too many bars in the area concerns you? What the hell lady?!?!! Yeah Whyte Ave has a few problems in relation to the amount of bars on the street, but so does Granville in Vancouver and that doesn't stop people from frequenting the area every day...to spend money, shop, eat, drink, stroll along holding hands...Alberta Ave would be only so lucky to have the success that Whyte Ave has today. Currently, people drive past Alberta Ave briefly to get to Nait or something...and they lock their car doors while doing so...if you are fortunate enough to make such progress so that people may roll down their windows while in the area, I would say your neighbourhood make-over has been a success.

That is all....

The Day Joanne Had a Kid

So here I am just putting it out there, but I have noticed a number of "teachers" have a facebook profile, which is all coool and all, but I take issue with some of the pictures they have posted....

As per my rant, let's just say I have some sort of kid...for argument's sake....don't question the logistics of this....

I would personally rip the head off of ANYONE who posted a picture of my kid on Facebook without my knowledge of it....now consider this "anyone" to be a teacher of all people, and I'm going to get them fired. I send my kid to school to learn, socialize, make friends, and to grow...I do not send my kid to school so some supposed responsible teaching/care-taking type can snap pictures of him or her and post them all over a facebook page so that endless numbers of online "friends" can perv all over them.

Yeah, so my kid got glue all over its face....wow, give ME the damn picture if you must take one at all so that I can enjoy the moment I could not otherwise enjoy in the name of education. The only reason you post a picture of someone else's kid playing with dough is because a) you are a pervert b) you have some sort of friendship or family connection to its parents or c) you want to show off to everyone on Facebook how successful and cool you are to have such an important position in life (which you do, by all means be proud of what you do, I appreciate it). And as a sidenote to that, if you are NOT, in fact, a pervert, then chances are at least 1 of your 300+ "friends" online is and is at this very moment masterbating to YOUR picture of MY child....way to go you've just made a 7 year old a victim.
